THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: IT services and solutions major UST Global will partner Virgin Racing for the 2010 Formula One season, UST Global officials said here.
Company officials said UST Global would be Virgin Racing’s IT services partner in a tie-up that will combine the firepower of a recognized racing team with a global IT brand. Virgin Racing is a new team for the new era of Formula One.
They said UST Global would provide support on advanced technical projects as part of the operational partnership, and that a bespoke race management tool providing race engineers a 360-degree trackside perspective of each grand prix was on the cards. UST Global, they said, would have a prominent presence of the new Virgin Racing VR-01 racecar, as well as the attire and equipment of F1 drivers Timo Glock and Lucas di Grassi.
UST Global president Joe Nalkara said his company and Virgin Racing were next generation outfits that threw aside convention, and that the shared principles made it a natural choice for his company to partner with Virgin Racing.
UST Global has over 7,000 employees, with more than half of them located at the company’s facilities in Kerala.
